The Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation (HCTF) is a non-profit charitable foundation acting as Trustee of the Habitat Conservation Trust. We support projects that benefit native freshwater fish, wildlife and their habitats in British Columbia, Canada as laid out in our trust purposes in the BC Wildlife Act.

Invasive Mussels Lake Monitoring Fund

The purpose of the Invasive Mussels Lake Monitoring Fund is to ensure lakes and rivers across the province of B.C. are actively sampled and monitored for the presence of invasive zebra and quagga mussels. The Invasive Mussels Lake Monitoring grant provides applicants with funding for labour, materials, and travel costs to annually monitor B.C.’s priority lakes, as determined by the Province, following a standardized sampling protocol.  

Caribou Habitat Restoration Fund (CHRF) Grant

The Caribou Habitat Restoration Fund (CHRF) is managed by the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation for the purpose of restoring high-value habitat for caribou in BC using functional and ecological restoration methods. The CHRF is made possible by a contribution from the Province of BC.
